Quick and Easy Hermit Crab Care by T.F.H. Publications

This book reads like an expansion of Paul J. Nash's Land Hermit Crabs. It is by the same publisher and does not list an author, so it may simply be an expanded version of the same book, given a new title and some new cover art.

This book does go into a little more detail, especially regarding hermit crab behaviors in their natural habitats, which is interesting and illuminates certain behaviors that carry over into their captive habitats.

Most of the advice in the book is fairly good, with the same caveats I gave in the review for Land Hermit Crabs - several paragraphs of this book are pulled verbatim from Land Hermit Crabs, so it makes sense that they would have similar problem areas.

Unlike in Land Hermit Crabs, however, they do advocate giving a dish of salt water as well as a dish of fresh water, which is good, however they also say you can make the salt water using table salt, which is wrong and possibly harmful to the hermit crabs since table salt (a) is often iodized (b) contains anti-caking agents which may be harmful for hermit crabs. Hobbyists and hermit crab experts recommend giving a dish of salt water to hermit crabs, but only salt water intended for use in aquariums.

I definitely would recommend getting this one over the Nash book - this book goes into much greater detail.
